Colonel Michael Bauer has been the press spokesman of the Austrian Ministry of Defence for many years. His numerous appearances at press conferences and in front of running cameras distinguish him as a specialist in crisis communication. He passes on his experience as a lecturer at the Danube University Krems and at the FH Campus Wien, among others. Professional background

Colonel Michael Bauer graduated from the Theresian Military Academy. After serving for five years as company commander of an armoured reconnaissance company, he was press officer at the International Operations Command from 1999 to 2003. He studied political science at the University of Vienna, graduated from the Austrian College of Journalists in Salzburg and since 2009, as a spokesperson, has been responsible for crisis communication for the Ministry of Defence.
