Educational background
Graduate of the Vienna University of Economics and Business, Department of Social and Economic Sciences (commercial sciences degree programme). Following his graduation in 1991 he completed a Sales Management Trainee programme at Procter & Gamble. Bernd started his radio career, whilst still studying at university, as editor and radio presenter for the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation’s (ORF) Ö3 radio station, Blue Danube Radio (broadcast in English) and at the ORF’s sports desk.

Professional background
Bernd is one of the founding fathers of private radio broadcasting in Austria. In 1994 he became head of programming for Austria’s first private radio station Antenne Steiermark, making it the number 1 radio station in Styria, ousting the previous favourite Ö3. In 1997 Bernd was appointed by Hans Dichand (publisher of the Austrian tabloid Kronen Zeitung) as managing and programming director for 88.6 der Musiksender in Vienna, making it the number 1 private radio station in Austria and the number 1 station in Vienna. In 2001 Bernd launched the first Austria-wide private radio station Kronehit and, as its managing and programming director, was instrumental in making it one of the most successful private radio stations in Austria, a status it retains to this day. Following these successes, Bernd was voted Austria’s Most Successful Radio Maker by the trade journal “Der Österreichische Journalist”. From 2000 to 2003 he was both managing director of Radio Media Consulting (RMC) and responsible for organising the business side of the Kronehit radio stations throughout Austria as well as the Hit FM stations in Lower Austria. Bernd was a radio presenter for the ORF (Ö3 and ORF Sport), for Radio CD International, Radio Maribor International (RMI), and the Austrian regional radio stations Antenne Steiermark, 88.6 der Musiksender, Kronehit and Antenne Wien between 1989 and 2012. He was a founding member and member of the board of the Association of Austrian Private Radio Stations (VÖP) for many years, also serving as vice-president between 1997 and 2003. In 2001 Bernd, an avowed Beatles fan, awarded the Beatles, represented by Sir Paul McCartney, the title “Artist of the Century” in Berlin. He later became the McCartney Group’s PR manager, focusing on Beatles projects.

Since 2003 Bernd has been managing director of Sebor Media GmbH, a communication agency focusing on media training and consulting for senior executives. For many years now he has lectured at the University of Applied Sciences FH Joanneum in Graz, at the Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Economic Promotion (WIFI) in Vienna and at the BILDAK academy in Salzburg, and has been a negotiation trainer certified by the Austrian market leader in negotiation training En GardE. Since 2015 he has also worked as a trainer and mediaexpert for Intomedia.

Training focus
Bernd leads business communication training seminars for business executives and gives media training to top politicians. Since 2015 development of the Intomedia Business-Unit; since 2016 senior consultant Intomedia sales department.
